At Rotomolding time how to choose the right material to ensure the durability, Ultraviolet resistance and impact resistance of the product?

2025-02-15

In the rotoplastic process, choosing the right material is crucial to ensure the durability, Ultraviolet resistance and impact resistance of the product. Here are some suggestions based on current knowledge:

High density polyethylene (HDPE) : HDPE is one of the most commonly used materials in rotoplastic products, which has good impact resistance, chemical resistance and weather resistance. The melting point of HDPE is relatively high, suitable for rotomolding, and can form uniform and complete crystals in the rotomolding process, which helps to improve the physical properties of products.

Low density polyethylene (LDPE) : LDPE is also a common rotoplastic material, which has good toughness and processing properties. Although LDPE is not as mechanically strong as HDPE, LDPE may be a better choice in situations where greater flexibility is required.

Polypropylene (PP) : PP has high impact strength and rigidity, but also has good chemical and heat resistance. The surface hardness and gloss of PP are good, which is suitable for making products that need a good appearance.

Add anti-UV agent: In order to improve the anti-UV performance of the product, anti-UV agent can be added to the raw material. These additives are able to absorb or reflect ultraviolet light, thus slowing the aging process of the material.

Consider the economy and recyclability of the material: HDPE and LDPE are both cost-effective materials that can reduce the production cost of rotoplastic products. At the same time, they are also recyclable materials, contributing to environmental protection and sustainable use of resources.

In summary, when selecting rotomolding materials, it is necessary to consider the physical properties, chemical stability, cost effectiveness and environmental protection factors of the materials. By reasonable selection of materials and the addition of necessary additives, the durability, Ultraviolet resistance and impact resistance of rotoplastic products can be effectively improved.
